Sunday morning I headed out with my wife and 2 kids to be dropped of at Fetzer for a workout before jumping on our first plane to Krasnoyarsk, Russia. After changing a flat tire we got heading out of our neighborhood we were back on the road. My wife and kids dropped me off and we said our goodbyes for the week. That’s where I meet up with Coach Scott. He got the sauna cranked up while I went for a light jog on the treadmill. There is nothing better than getting a good sweat in before jumping on a plane for a few days. After the sauna warmed up we grabbed some hot tea and got a good sweat in, showered up, and then hopped in an Uber to the RDU airport.
At the airport I meet up with Kindig and Gwizdowski where we took our first flight to Newark. In Newark we meet up with most of the crew and jumped on our first long flight to Geneva, Switzerland. It was a good 7hr flight which gave me plenty of time to finish season 7 of Game of Thrones. I am a big Jon Snow fan! We had one more flight from Geneva to Moscow where I got some rest this time. When we landed in Moscow we got a hotel for the night.
The next morning we got up around 4:30 and went down to the continental breakfast that cost 600 rubles. Someone needs to tell Russians what a continental breakfast is. We left the hotel for the airport about 7:15am and jumped on our last 4hr flight to Krasnoyarsk. By the time we landed in Krasnoyarsk it was 7:30pm on Tuesday. Before hitting the sack we rented out the sauna to sweat out the long travel. I am two days from competition and everything is going smooth. I will be back with more updates for you all!
